B&W pilot episode of the Walking Dead to air during the marathon, and Heavy Spoiler of issue #100

The Walking Dead's black and white pilot will air in the US during a marathon of the show next month.

AMC has confirmed that the alternate version of the series opener will receive its world television premiere on July 8, preceded by all 19 episodes of the series over the course of two nights.

The marathon will also include a sneak preview of Walking Deadseason three, and feature introductions and supplementary material courtesy of Talking Deadhost Chris Hardwick.

A live primetime special edition of Talking Dead will air on July 8 at 9pm, followed by the pilot at 10pm. Plans to screen the episode in other territories are yet to be confirmed.

The alternate pilot was "created specifically for fans of The Walking Dead", which is based on an Image Comics series that is rendered in black and white.

The Walking Dead returns for its third season in October.

Heavy Spoilers here if you have not caught up on your reading of The Walking Dead ( and why have you not, the series is incredible) To see the #100 covers of the Walking Dead jump after the break.

So issue #100 is coming in July, and if you have read atleast up to Issue #50, you know how Robert Kirkman likes to flip the switch on classic comic storytelling.  These two never covers are just a few that will be released with issue #100.
