Drop At&t for your iphone, go to Straight Talk , save CASH!

Today, I decide to get out of the death grip of AT&T data plan and cost with my iphone still intact. I decided to try out the unlimited monthly play from Straight Talk. For only $45 a month, you get unlimited data, phone and text. So you ask yourself, what is the catch? I dont think there is a catch.




After visting Straight Talk website, you only need to order a micro sim AT&T compatible. The cost range from 15 bucks for just the sim card, or 60 bucks for the sim card and first month of coverage. You can not pick up the cards at any local wal-mart, so you limited to using the website.




After getting the new sim card, which only took 4 days to get, I went on the website and transfered / ported my old phone number to the new sim card. It took 10 minutes for the transfer, but it has been noted that it could take up to two days to get it working. You know that the number has transfered when you cant make a phone call from the AT&T sim card.




When you get to this point, replace your sim card with the new one from Straight Talk. Power off, than Power on. Service was available on power up.




Now here comes the trick part, you need to do a few tricks to get the 3G running on the phone. If you are jailbroken, this is very easy.

Here is Instructions for adding Apn for MMSPeople say that if you put in unrecognized sim like tmobile sim card the menu option to put in apns show up (which i tried and did work)then you quickly put back in the Straight Talk sim and put in setting under mms apn and go home and it would work (but for me on 4s it wouldn't save or something)
(This is what does work for me)1. Have phone Jailbroken by redsnow or Absinthe2. download "Tether Me" - cracked version for free from "sinfuliphonerepo.com"3. then the menu to put apn setting will show up under MMS APN enter

and thats it, only setup once, unless if you restore phone or reset settings, and its unlimited talk, text and web, and it works just like you have att

Now after you completed this steps, you will notice one issue. No working visual voicemail. If this is not a huge deal breaker, just keep it the same. There is a work around for both Jailbroken phones and non jailbroken. Download the app YouMail . It will give you a free visual voice mail.
