The Surface Resurfaces in Microsoft's New Tablet, The Surface

What was announced for today, but was spoiled by a leaked internal document, Microsoft has announced a project that has changed shape and form through the years, the Surface. Surface is the name of Microsoft's touch screen platform, but now it has returned in the form of their brand new tablet.

Microsoft has dabbled with deploying a tablet in the past. The Courier was a split-screened folding tablet, but that project, which was highly anticipated for a launch, was indefinitely shelved a few years ago. It seems like that project may have been succeeded by what was announced today, which keeps the split feel with a functional case that pulls double duty as a keyboard. Oh, and that keyboard case comes in two versions, a multitouch keypad and a button-based keyboard.

The tablet itself is a 10.6-inch, HD screen tablet with a built-in kickstand - yes, a kickstand. The screen is also covered in Gorilla Glass 2, so it'll withstand a beating. Those keyboard covers attach magnetically, just like that other magical tablet. The tablet will come in 2 versions and will come installed with Windows 8. No prices announced yet, but they shouldn't exceed $2,000.

I think this is a promising new entrant in the crazy tablet race. The price may seem too expensive for a tablet, but this is a laptop masquerading as a tablet. The guts of this thing are powerful, containing an Intel Core i5 processor. So whatever the "ultrabook price" might be, won't be too harsh. It can run a full operating system, something these modern tablets do not run. You can have Flash on this!

Overall I'm excited for the Surface and I can't wait to see what the news will be about this exciting new product as the days after the announcement reveal themselves.

Today, I decide to get out of the death grip of AT&T data plan and cost with my iphone still intact. I decided to try out the unlimited monthly play from Straight Talk. For only $45 a month, you get unlimited data, phone and text. So you ask yourself, what is the catch? I dont think there is a catch.




After visting Straight Talk website, you only need to order a micro sim AT&T compatible. The cost range from 15 bucks for just the sim card, or 60 bucks for the sim card and first month of coverage. You can not pick up the cards at any local wal-mart, so you limited to using the website.




After getting the new sim card, which only took 4 days to get, I went on the website and transfered / ported my old phone number to the new sim card. It took 10 minutes for the transfer, but it has been noted that it could take up to two days to get it working. You know that the number has transfered when you cant make a phone call from the AT&T sim card.




When you get to this point, replace your sim card with the new one from Straight Talk. Power off, than Power on. Service was available on power up.




Now here comes the trick part, you need to do a few tricks to get the 3G running on the phone. If you are jailbroken, this is very easy.

Now after you completed this steps, you will notice one issue. No working visual voicemail. If this is not a huge deal breaker, just keep it the same. There is a work around for both Jailbroken phones and non jailbroken. Download the app YouMail . It will give you a free visual voice mail.

Everyone from Darth Vader vs Hitler to Einstein vs Hawkins, it runs the full gamete of satire and fun. EPB was created by an improv show first performed in LA in the summer of 2010 by Nice Peter and EpicLLOYD.  The guys free-styled hilarious and poignant verbal altercations between two characters suggested by the audience.  The guys started in the mean streets of Chi-town, where they crafted their improv.

RIP Ray Bradbury

One of the greatest writers in our history has passed away at the age of 91 today.  Ray Bradbury was know for many of his novels like "Fahrenheit 451", "The Illustrated Man" and "Something Wicked this way comes".

He exhibited skepticism with regard to modern technology by refusing to allow any of his works to be created as e-books.  Bradbury changed his mind in 2011 when Fahrenheit 451 came up for renewal and allowed the publishing in a electronic format on the demand the publisher allow the e-book to be digitally downloaded by any library patron.

So from all the Frakkin Nerds out there, we want to salaute the incredible author with a fitting tribute by Rachel Bloom , which is very NSFW!

B&W pilot episode of the Walking Dead to air during the marathon, and Heavy Spoiler of issue #100

The Walking Dead's black and white pilot will air in the US during a marathon of the show next month.

AMC has confirmed that the alternate version of the series opener will receive its world television premiere on July 8, preceded by all 19 episodes of the series over the course of two nights.

The marathon will also include a sneak preview of Walking Deadseason three, and feature introductions and supplementary material courtesy of Talking Deadhost Chris Hardwick.

A live primetime special edition of Talking Dead will air on July 8 at 9pm, followed by the pilot at 10pm. Plans to screen the episode in other territories are yet to be confirmed.

The alternate pilot was "created specifically for fans of The Walking Dead", which is based on an Image Comics series that is rendered in black and white.

The Walking Dead returns for its third season in October.
